During this BoF the policy findings of the e-Infrastructure Reflection Group (e-IRG) will be presented, along with corresponding recommendations for future actions, developed as part of the e-IRG main publications, namely the e-IRG White paper and Roadmap.
The White paper focuses on short term policy findings, this year covering topics such as e-Infrastructure sustainability, cloud and Grid computing, virtualisation, a holistic view of security, remote instrumentation, education and training and global collaboration. The e-IRG roadmap is a more medium-to-long term document aiming at better anticipating the future e-Infrastructure developments and outlining how the e-IRG can facilitate in getting the best out of those developments and new services. In addition, a demo of the e-IRG knowledge base will be given (http://knowledgebase.e-irg.eu), while the BoF can act as a means of receiving feedback for the current publications, as well as for future topics for the White paper and Roadmap 2010.
