In this paper we present the architectural design of the Trouble Ticket Normalization and Delivery service, which was developed in the frames of the long-term project “Enabling Grids for E-SciencE” (EGEE*). We also provide implementation fundamentals of the service and we analyze the core elements and the primitive characteristics of the system components. The main role of the presented service is to retrieve the stored Trouble Tickets (TTs) of many different National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) from the EGEE Network Operation Centre (ENOC) database, to transform them into a common format, to translate any parts of the TTs that are written in a language other than English and finally to store the normalized TTs into a specific repository of the ENOC database. The service has been designed and implemented in compliance of the open software principles, using exclusively open source tools. It is based on the Linux operating system and it is licensed under the Apache software license.
